Creamy Eggnog (Holiday Series: Christmas)
Creamy Eggnog is part of our holiday series that encompasses a number of holidays from different religions. Many people might not think of eggnog as their number one choice for a Christmas flavor but Eggnog is particularly important in my family's tradition of celebrating Christmas. Eggnog always marked the beginning of the Christmas season and was the last thing we would drink before we would try to go to sleep Christmas Eve. As a child, getting any sleep Christmas Eve would have been a miracle. There was always so much excitement and anticipation building. Creamy Eggnog pairs our buttery Organic Huangshan Mao Feng with a rich creamy eggnog flavor. The tea and flavor work well with each other and neither overshadows the other. This tea is sweet with a heavy cream and eggy quality. Add a little brown crystal sugar and the tea becomes extremely creamy, rich, and very much like eggnog. Some vanilla notes become pronounced and so do the egg notes. We added safflower for a touch of red for a festive Christmas colored tea. Temporarily out of stock. Check back May 14th.

Fukamushi Sencha Tenjo
Our Fukamushi Sencha Tenjo originates from the Kakegawa region of Shizuoka prefecture in Japan. Fukamushi is a deep steamed Sencha. The leaves are steamed for twice as long as a regular Sencha, as a result the leaves will be less uniform in appearance: however, the liquor is sweeter and brighter. The leaves of this rare, high grade of Fukamushi Sencha have been plucked around the 7th day of the first flush harvest. The producer of this tea has received an award for best manufacturer in a nationwide contest. "Tenjo" means "above the sky" in Japanese. This full bodied sweet and juicy tea is complex yet well balanced and brisk with a brilliant neon green liquor. Notes of sweet peas, steamed cauliflower, fresh grass, and macadamia nuts can be detected as well as light toasted notes. Oversteeping will result in a bitter brew. Potato Pancakes & Applesauce (Holiday Series: Hanukkah)
Our Potato Pancakes & Applesauce tea pairs our buttery Organic Huangshan Mao Feng with generous potato pieces and crisp apple chips. Plain, this tea is thick with potato notes up front followed by apple and cinnamon notes with some buttery notes that peak through at the end. As the tea is repeatedly sipped the buttery quality will become more apparent. The weighty body adds to both the potato and applesauce feel. Since this tea is on the lighter side, we recommend drinking this tea at a warmer temperature. For stronger potato notes we recommend adding a very small amount of salt; however, this may diminish the applesauce notes. For a sweeter applesauce, we recommend adding a tiny bit of sugar; however, this may reduce the potato notes. Temporarily out of stock. Check back May 23rd.
